After some fairly cool nights this week, temperatures are predicted to become quite warm this weekend and early next week. Forecasts call for a ridge of high pressure to spread across Texas this weekend, keeping our weather sunny and dry. But at the same time, southerly breezes will be returning to the area, transporting warmer air north from the Gulf of Mexico.
Forecasts call for the temperature to reach the low 80s Friday, the mid-80s Saturday, and mid to upper 80s Sunday and Monday. Low temperatures through the period are forecast to be in the 50s to low 60s.
A storm system is predicted to track across Texas the middle of next week, bringing our region scattered showers and some isolated thunderstorms. Rain amounts are forecast to average only around a quarter inch. Dry and slightly cooler conditions are expected late next week.
I’ll have more details about next week’s weather in Friday’s update.
