Filming and photography
Organizations and individuals wanting to film or take photographs on LCRA property for commercial use, stock photography, student projects, television, or movies must receive permission from LCRA prior to production.
What you need to know
- Complete the LCRA Film Location Application and email it to [email protected].
- Filming and photography limited to personal use is allowed in LCRA parks without a permit, including the use of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (drones) operated recreationally.
- Drones must not be flown over or near LCRA critical infrastructure, including dams, power lines and power plants. All federal, state and local regulations regarding drones must be strictly observed.
- Anyone on LCRA lands must adhere to LCRA’s Land and Water Use Regulations.

- Lakefront parks, campgrounds, trails and boat ramps.
- Office space including cubicles, cafeterias and meeting rooms.
- Industrial buildings including garages, warehouses, a gymnasium and a laboratory.

Pricing
Minor Production
$750 per day
+ $250 administrative fee
1-15 people and no more than five vehicles
Major I Production
$1,750 per day
+$250 administrative fee
16-45 crew members and/or 6-10 vehicles
Major II Production
$3,500 per day
+$500 administrative fee
45+ crew members and/or more than 10 vehicles
Rush Charge
Minor/Major I – $400
Major II – $800
For applications needing to be processed in less than five business days
LCRA Staff Support
$75 per hour per staff member
For staff support during the first 8 hours each day
LCRA Staff Support
$112.50 per hour per staff member
For staff support during each hour over and above the first 8 hours
Materials
25% markup on retail cost
LCRA-provided materials/supplies
Location Fee – Business Hours
$100 per hour
