The coolest temperatures since mid-April! Chilly, autumn-like temperatures settled in across Central Texas early Tuesday morning thanks to a cold front, clear skies and light winds. Low temperatures were generally in the low and middle 40s across the Hill Country, the upper 40s to low 50s across Central Texas and the mid to upper 50s across the coastal plains region. LCRA’s Hydromet indicated temperatures at several locations across the western and northern Hill Country dropped to mid and upper 30s! Keep in mind, normal low temperatures for late September are around 60 degrees across the Hill Country and in the mid-60s at most other locations. Low temperatures in Austin Tuesday included 57 degrees at Austin-Camp Mabry and 49 degrees at Austin-Bergstrom.

Similar temperatures, possibly a couple of degrees lower, are forecast Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. Southeasterly breezes will return Wednesday afternoon, bringing a return of warmer temperatures for Wednesday and Thursday. But another cold front is forecast to move through the area late Thursday that is expected to bring more cool, autumn weather for Friday and Saturday.
A dry weather pattern is forecast the rest of this week, continuing through next week.
